I Shouldn’t Have to Say This

I shouldn’t have to say this

Jews, Zionists, and Israelis are safe in my office. They have a safe therapy space in my office.

I shouldn’t have to say this, but sadly I do.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about go do your own research, become educated.

Other groups get to proudly share their identity and their positionality.

I shouldn’t have to be scared for my personal safety to say that I’m proud to be a Jew.

I really shouldn’t have to say this. But sadly, I do.

This statement shouldn’t be considered political but always gets turned into politics. This statement shouldn’t lose followers, but it always does.

This statement shouldn’t leave me with hate messages, but it always does.

The statement shouldn’t leave you initially thinking of a rebuttal, but it always does.

This statement shouldn’t put me at risk, but it always does.

I shouldn’t have to lose clients over this statement, but I always do.

Saying Bring Them Home shouldn’t be considered a political statement but it always does.

Jews matter. Period. End of story. No if, ands, or buts.

I just want you to know that you are seen, you are heard, and you matter.

Your trauma matters to me.

I believe you.

Remember, we have survived every persecution in every generation. We will continue to survive, thrive, and heal the world in the process.
