MARISOL TAMEZ
Yoga instructor, writer, activist, creative designer and more, Marisol is passionate about integrating her diverse interests with her singular purpose: to facilitate healing and inspiration for all populations. Marisol’s love affair with yoga began in 2010 after her years as a dancer resulted in two knee ACL replacements. In 2011 she completed her 200-Hour Teacher Training with Terri Cooper at 305 Yoga, a karma yoga school in Miami, Florida. Soon after, she completed training in yoga therapy for youth with Autism and Special Needs with Louise Goldberg and Off The Mat Into The World’s leadership trainings with Seane Corn, Hala Khouri & Suzanne Sterling.Marisol combines her BA in Psychology & Criminology along with a near decade long career as a TV Host, Writer & Producer, ensuring an experience that is not only grounded in mind-body science, but also creative and engaging. Her yoga class repertoire ranges from a medium paced, yet challenging alignment based vinyasa flow to a gentle restorative or yin practice. She constantly emphasizes the breath, which she views as the gateway to a truly transformative experience. Every class consists of a fine balance of light and shadow, urging her students to dive into the most unexplored areas of their mind, body, and spirit. Her deep love for the chakras, ensures that students make the connection between their physical, mental & energetic bodies and their life experiences off of the mat.
Marisol also currently serves as Connection Coalition’s Director of Trainings, a national nonprofit offering free yoga programs to youth in schools, jails, foster homes, rehab centers and more. In this role she coordinates and leads a 15-Hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Outreach Training in yoga studios across the US. To date her team has trained more than 3200 yogis, educators and mental health professionals. Marisol is also the owner of Mayan Rose, a handmade crystal healing jewelry brand, she founded in 2012.
