Teresa Garcia-Leys

TERESA GARCIA-LEYS, LCSW, CLE is a therapist, consultant, and clinical supervisor. For the past 16 years, Teresa has worked in schools, community mental health, shelters, foster care programs, and home visitation programs. Teresa currently works as the Clinical Supervisor for the Welcome Baby home visitation program at Maternal and Child Health Access (MCHA). Teresa also provides training and coaching for the Family Strengthening Oversight Entity and has trained staff at 14 hospitals and community based organizations.
Teresa started her professional career in mental health by obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Services from California State University of Fullerton (CSUF) in 2000. Teresa then taught high school at an alternative high school for high-risk youth. After 10 years of teaching, Teresa decided to follow her passion of social work and attend graduate school. Teresa obtained a Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2010.
In 2016 Teresa started a small private practice working with individuals and families. Teresa enjoys mentoring social workers and providing direct service to clients utilizing a strength-based, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach. Teresa also enjoys exercising, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
