Intimate Partner Violence: An Intersectional Perspective



In 2017, Trauma Informed LA Co-Founder, Susan Hess, Advisor, Devika Shankar, and Speakers Bureau Member, Brenda Ingram presented at Intimate Partner Violence: An Intersectional Perspective. The event, hosted by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) USC Unit, the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work Alumni Association, and Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Service (RSVP), discussed intimate partner violence (IPV) through and intersectional lens, providing a nuanced understanding of the role of oppression, historical and generational trauma, institutional discrimination, and other “isms” in the experiences of IPV in different communities. Read more here
