Jennifer Parga

Board Member

JENNIFER PARGA is an Associate Professor of Practicum Education at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.

Prior to joining USC, Parga ran programming in affordable housing and coordinated distribution at local food co-ops. Additionally, she diligently supported first-generation college students via service learning opportunities in partnership with San Diego-based high schools, nonprofits and community-based organizations in the most diverse community in San Diego. She worked with donors to develop a supplemental scholarship which brought financial support to program alumni while in college.

As a community organizer with an emphasis in consensus organizing, Parga has provided state-wide training in Georgia and led county wide initiatives with the San Diego Foundation. She spent several years on the Coordinating Council of Mid-City Community Advocacy Network during one of the most impactful placed-based funding initiatives implemented in partnership with the California Endowment.

She has served on the board of directors for the National Association of Social Workers as the Regional Director and California State Secretary.

Parga has provided support to the Trauma Informed Learning Alliance since its inception through consultation, facilitation, and strategic planning.
